Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you use Police Bandhu.

About this policy

Police Bandhu supports citizen services and authorised police administration. This policy describes information handled through the portal. The information requested depends on the service you use and your account permissions.

1. Information handled

Depending on the service, the portal may handle:

  • Account and contact details, including names, mobile numbers, email addresses, roles and assigned jurisdictions.
  • Complaints, case details, enquiry reports, workflow updates and other records submitted by citizens or authorised personnel.
  • Identification details, photographs and supporting documents uploaded for a relevant service.
  • Authentication, session and activity information needed to operate the portal and maintain accountability.

Submit information and documents relevant to the service you are using. Avoid including unrelated personal information.

2. How information is used

Information is used to verify access, provide requested services, manage complaints and operational records, route work to the appropriate authorised personnel, communicate service updates and maintain an audit trail of administrative actions.

3. Access and sharing

Access to internal records is governed by account permissions and assigned jurisdiction. Information submitted to the portal may be reviewed by authorised police personnel and relevant authorities for the service or official process concerned. Submitted records are not intended for public browsing.

Information may need to be disclosed in connection with an authorised official process or a lawful request. This policy does not make operational records available to the public.

4. Cookies and device permissions

The portal uses session and security cookies to support sign-in and protect requests. Blocking these cookies may prevent authentication or other services from working correctly.

When a service requires an upload, your browser or app may ask for permission to select a file or use the camera. Location or notification access, where offered, is managed through your browser or device settings. You can review or revoke these permissions in those settings.

Never share a one-time password with another person. Sign out after using the portal on a shared device.

5. Records, retention and security

Submitted information may form part of an official record. Retention, correction and disposal depend on the type of record and the applicable administrative process; signing out does not delete submitted records.

The portal uses authentication and access controls to limit access to protected functions. Use the official secure website when submitting personal information, protect your device and report suspected unauthorised access to the responsible administrator.

6. Privacy enquiries and corrections

For questions about information submitted to Police Bandhu, contact the police station, district office or portal administrator responsible for the service concerned. Provide the relevant record reference and describe your request so it can be directed appropriately.

Requests for access, correction or removal are subject to identity verification and the requirements governing the record. Do not send passwords, OTPs or unnecessary identification documents with an initial enquiry.

7. Changes to this policy

This page may be updated as portal services or information-handling practices change.
